Looking outside the window - well the weather is turning into that slushy,
snowy, wet, wet, wet. It is time to look through some old pattern and see what
is new on the market.
Spring colors bring us the golden shiny effect of beautiful yarns
which you can knit on its own or mix in with some other yarn. From sea to
shining sea - the Mediterranean and Caribbean to the South Pacific and Atlantic

The colors range from aquatic Blue Tint to placid Skies and seaworthy Deep
Ultramarine.
Spring colors include lily green, fresh Viola, juicy Melon and French Vanilla
and a big comeback for Pink.
This whole color world gives you the spirit of the new year , making you look
forward to the excitement of warmth socializing with the adventure.
Debbie Bliss again follows her distinct line of awesome yarns and
offers you the incredible " Pure Silk", a sensation in feel and texture. (

The accompanying book " Pure Silk" ( in stock now) features knits that
have been designed to emphasize the sheer beauty of the yarn. The classic styles
are worked into cables, lace and ribs to enhance the sheen of the silk and gives
glamour and sophistication.
Another new book is the " Wish you were here" book by Debbie Bliss.
Wish you were here is according to Debbie Bliss a collection that is all
about " getting away", sharing your break with family and friends, or dreaming
of the one that is not here.

Crochet Beret
Head Size approx S = 8 1/4 " (M = 9 1/4" L = 10 ½ " )
Materials: 2 balls of Smart ( shown in color 4407)
Crochet Hook 4.0mm
Gauge: 9dc= 2inches, 7rnds = 3 inches
Crown: Chain 4. Join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Rnd. 1: Ch 3, 13 dc in ring, join with a slip stitch to top of ch-3. 14 dc
counting ch-3 a s 1 dc.
Rnd 2 : Ch 3, dc in same st with ch-3, 2dc in each st around. Join each rnd with
a slip stitch (sl st) to top of ch-3 , 28 dc.
Rnd 3: Ch 3, 2dc in next st, * dc in next st, 2dc in next st; rep from * around
. 42dc.
Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in next st, 2dc in next st, * dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st,
rep from * around. 56dc.
Rnd 5: Ch3, dc in each of next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, * dc in each of next 3 sts,
2 dc in next st ; repeat from * around. 70dc.
Continued in this way to inc 14 sts every rnd, having 1 st more between incs
each rnd until there are 8 (9,10)sts between incs.
Work 3 rnds even.
1st dec Rnd: *Work 8 (9,10)sts, draw up a loop in each of the next 2
sts, yo (yarn over) and through 3 loops on hook ( 1 st dec); rep from * around.
Join .
2nd dec. Rnd: * Work 7 (8,9)sts, dec; rep from * around. Join.
Continue in this way to dec 14 sts every rnd, having 1 st less between decs each
rnd until there are 6 sts between decs.
Headband: Work 6 rnds of one sc in each st. Join and fasten off.
Knitted Beret
Material 2 balls Smart
Size: S
Needles: 3.5 mm and 4.0 mm circular 40cm, ste of 4 needles 4.0mm and stitch
markers
M1= Make one sts by knitting into front and back of next sts.
K2tog+ knit two sts together
Cast on 107sts with size 3.5mm. Join in rnd, place stitchmarker.
RS: K1, P1to end , repeat 3 more rounds.
Increase 3 sts ( M1) evenly across = 110
Change to larger needle:
1st row:(RS) *K10, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
2nd Row: Knit k sts and purl purl stitches.
3rd Row: * K10, M1, P1; repeat from * to end of round
4th Row: repeat row 2
5th Row: *K11, M1, P1; repeat from * to end of row.
6th Row: repeat row 2.
Continue increasing in this way until 170 sts are on your needle.
Knit 3 rows without increasing.
Next row: * K14, K2tog, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
Next row: K15, P1.
Change to set of four needles when circular needle doesn’t work
for stitch amount anymore.
Repeat the last 2 rows until 10 sts remain on your needle.
Draw yarn through these and pull tight. Fast securely.
