Materials: Phentas 3ply: col A 1 ball, Col B 1 ball. Crochet Hook 5.5mm (
5CDN, I9 USA)
Sizes: Child - approx. length of sole 15cm (6")
Ladies- approx.: length of sole 20cm (8")
Men- approx.: length of sole 25cm (10")
Stitches used: Chain/ ch Slip stitch / sl st Single
crochet/ sc Half double crochet/ hdc Double
crochet/ dc
Treble / tr
Instructions:
Using col A, ch 30 (40/40) ; join with a sl st in 1st ch.
Note: be careful not to twist chain when joining.
1st rnd.: With A : ch 1 , sc in next 22 (32-32) ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 2
ch, 3tr in ea next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in last ch, join with slst in 1st
sc. Fasten off = 34 (44-44) sts.
2nd rnd: With B: join in 1st sc of rnd 1, ch1, sc, * ch3, 2dc in side of last
sc, skip 2 sts, sc in next st ; * rep. from * to * 3(5-5) times, ch 3 2 dc
in side of last sc, sc in next st, rep from * to * 5(6-6) times, ch 3, 2dc in
side of last sc, skip next st, sc in next st, ch3, 2dc in side of last st;
**ch1, sc in top/side of last dc, ch3, 2dc in side of last sc, **
rep from ** to ** twice, sc in bottom of 2nd sc from hook, ch3, 2dc in side of
last sc, skip next 1(2-2) sts, sc in next st, ch3, 2dc in side of last sc, skip
next st, sc in next st, ch3, 2dc in side of last sc, join with a sl st in
1st sc. Fasten off.
3rd round: With A: join in 1st sc of rnd 2, ch 4, 2tr, * sc in center ch of next
ch-loop, 3 tr in next sc, * rep from *to * 11 (14-14) times, sc in center
ch of next ch-loop, 5hdc (5hdc-5tr) in next sc, rep from * to * 3 times, sc in
center ch of next ch-loop, join with sl st in top of ch4. Fasten off.
4th rnd: With B: jin in sl st of rnd 3, ch2 * sc in next 6sts, 1 dec (=[insert
hook innext st, pull loop through] twice, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook), sc
in next 3sts *, rep from * to * 2 (3-3) times, sc in next 7 (6-6) sts, hdc in
next st, dc in next 15sts, 3hd (3hdc-3dc) in next st, dc in next 15 sts, join
with sl st in top of ch 2. Fasten off.
5th rnd: With A: join in last dc of rnd 4, ch 1 , sc in next 32 ( 42-42) sts,hdc
in next 2 sts, dc in next 10 sts, hdc (hdc-dc) in next 2 sts, sc( sc-hdc) in
next 3 sts, hdc ( hdc-dc) in next 2 sts, dc in next 10 sts, hdc in last 2 sts,
join with sl st in 1st sc.
Do not fast off = 64 (74-74) sts.
6th round: For children's and ladies sizes only: ch 1 , sc in next 3 sts,
1 dec * sc in next 9sts, dec 1 , * rep from * to * 2 (4) times, **
sc in next 5 sts, dec 1 , ** rep from ** to ** 5 (3) times, sc in last 2
(4) sts. Join with a sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off = 56 (66)sts. Mark the 48th
(58th) st with a pin.
For men's sizes only: ch2, hdc in each sts around, join with a slst in top of
ch2. Fasten off. Mark 62nd hdc with a pin.
Sole: Using Color B work 2 strands tog. throughout.
1st rnd.: ch 16(22-28) , 2 dc in 3rd ch from hook, 2 dc in next ch, dc in next 5
(8-11) ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next 5(8-11) ch, 5 sc in end ch.
Cont to work across the other side of starting ch in reverse. Join with a sl st
in 1st ch.
2nd rnd: ch2, hdc, 2hdc in each of next 4 sts, hdc in next 5(8-11) sts, sc in
next 7(10-13) sts, 2 sc in ea of next 3 sts, sc in next 7910-13) sts, hdc
in next 5(8-11) sts, 2hdc in ea of next 2 sts. Join with a slip stitch in top of
ch 2 = 44( 56-68)sts.
3rd rnd: ch 1 , sc in next 2 sts,2sc in next st, (sc in ext 2 sts, 2 sc in next
st)twice, sc in next13920-28) sts, 2 sc in ea of next 7 (5-1)sts, sc in next
13(20-28)sts 2 sc in each of next 2 sts, join with sl st in first 1st sc. Fasten
off= 56(66-74) sts.
Finishing: Place top and sole together, back to back. Using A join by working in
sl st as follows: beg with the marked st (top) and 1st st of rnd 3( sole)
tog. Work 1 sl st in ea st, working through backloop of sole and
corresponding st of upper piece.
