Hat with Ear Flaps in Funny for Teens and Adults

Materials: 2 ball Funny , Brazilia or Funky Fur

Needles: 4.5mm circular and double pointed and Stitch marker and stitch holder

Abbreviations: Increase one stitch - cast on one stitch

K2tog = knit 2 stitches together

With circular 4.5mm : First ear flap:

Cast on 4 sts. Knit 1 row.

Increase row: Increase one stitch at begin of row, knit to end of row, increase one stitch.

Knit 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows until you have 22 sts on needle.

Knit 2 rows. Put stitches on a stitch holder. Cut yarn.

Work 2^nd earflap as first ear flap, but leave stitches on needle and do not cut yarn. Before turning for next row, cast on 8 sts. Turn

Knit over 8 sts, knit 22, cast on 40sts, knit over 22 sts from stitch holder ( first ear flap), cast on 8sts. Place stitch marker. Join work in rd.

Knit 26 rows.

Decrease row: * K10, k2tog, repeat from * to remaining stitches, knit remaining stitches.

Knit 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows 3 times.

Next decrease row: * K7, k2tog, repeat from * to end and last remaining stitch, knit remaining stitches.

Knit 1 row.

Next decrease row: * K5, k2tog , repeat from * to end and last remaining stitch, knit remaining stitches.

Knit 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows 2 times.

Next row: *K 5, k2tog , repeat from * to end and last remaining stitch, knit remaining stitches.

Knit 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows 3 times.

Next : *Knit 3, k2tog, repeat from * to end and last remaining stitch, knit remaining stitches

Knit 1 row.

Repeat last 2 rows 2 times.

Next row: *K1, K2tog , repeat from * to end and last remaining stitch, knit remaining stitches.

Next row: K2tog to end. Repeat last row until you have only 8sts or less sts left.

Cut thread ( leaving a long end) and pull through remaining stitches. Pull tied and fasten securely.

If you would like the braided ends on the ear flaps, proceed as following:

First braid : Cut 12 12" long pieces of yarn. Pull through end of ear flap and fold in half.

Divide the threads into 3 bundles and start braiding. Fast off securely and cut ends leaving ½ " ends.

Repeat for 2^nd ear flap.
