Free knitting pattern : Felted Christmas Baskets

Gift Basket in Kureyon or Silk garden or Silver Thaw - the special gift for ...       

Material : 1 ball Kureyon , 40cm circular 5.0 needle and set of 4 5.0 needles (double pointed),

stitch marker

With circular needles: Using double thread throughout cast on 60sts, join in round , place stitch marker.

( please knit in rounds - do not turn)

Knit in round until you have finished 16 rounds.

Next: Decrease: Bottom:

1.st round: Decrease 10 sts evenly around.

2^nd round: Repeat last row x 1

3^rd round: Knit 1 round

4^th round: Decrease 10 sts evenly around.

5^th round: Knit 1 round

6^th round: Switch to set of 4 needles : Decrease 10 sts evenly around

7^th round: Knit 1 round.

8^th round: K2tog to end of round (10sts)

9^th round: K1 round

10^th round: K2tog to end of round.

Break yarn and pull end through remaindering 5sts. Sew in ends.

We added one row of crochet to decorate the basket ( different color effect -yellow).

Felt your basket - if you are planning on doing a few, felt all together. As more you fill into your washing machine, as better for felting effect.

Decorate your basket further if you wish: cut out candy canes, gingerbread man, buttons, silver pins or bow - anything you can thing of and then fill your basket with nuts, shells, little gift items, crèmes ............................................
